Rob Pereyda About Me

Rob Pereyda is an entrepreneur, innovator, and expert in the field of Japanese entertainment, including anime, manga, and video games. His career spans a variety of corporate positions, all centered around unlocking the potential of Japanese intellectual property across the world, including business development, licensing, strategy, marketing, creative, production, and more.

Rob's business models and ecosystems have formed the basis of monetization in the anime industry in the West, and his approach to intellectual property portfolio incubation in Japan has laid the groundwork for transitionary video game companies to approach reviving franchises in a mobile-first world. His producing works include Bravoman, Wonder Momo, Namco High, and Mappy for Bandai Namco as well as numerous properties under Henshin, his production entity.

Rob serves on the Advisory Committee for the GLAS Animation Festival and is member of the Producers Guild of America and ASIFA-Hollywood (the Hollywood chapter of the International Animated Film Association, also known as "Association Internationale du Film d'Animation") organizations.

He holds a B.A., Chemistry from Santa Clara University and formerly resided in Tokyo, Japan for eight years.

Henshin - Founder & President (2014 - Present)

    US-Japan animated co-productions. Hands-on leading development on Klonoa, Aristar, an untitled feature, and more.

Viewster North American CEO & Global CSO (2015 - 2016), Advisor (2014 - 2015)

    Brought company to top positions for Japanese anime in Germany and the UK. Later expanded into USA and SVOD with hybrid video-merchandise offering called OMAKASE.

BANDAI Namco Games - VP, Business Development, Network Strategy Office (2011 - 2014)

    Digital strategic planning and later producing on huge portfolio of classic video game IP (ShiftyLook Project, including Bravoman, Wonder Momo, Mappy, Namco High, and more).

Crunchyroll - VP, Licensing (2008 - 2011)

    Created SVOD business model, led content acquisition program, and transformed the site into a global player in Japanese anime.
